Description
Thymosin Alpha–1 (Ta1) is a synthetic 28-amino-acid peptide identical to the naturally occurring N-terminal fragment of prothymosin alpha, a protein produced primarily in the thymus gland. Chemical Structure: Ac-Ser–Asp-Ala-Ala-Val-Asp-Thr–Ser–Ser–Glu–Ile-Thr-Thr–Lys–Asp–Leu–Lys-Glu-Lys–Lys-Glu-Val–Val-Glu-Glu-Ala-Glu- Asn-OH
(Acetylated at N-terminus; free carboxylic acid at C–terminus)
Mechanism of Action
Thymosin Alpha–1 acts as a master regulator of immune homeostasis. It binds to toll–like receptors (TLR2/TLR9) on immune cells and activates multiple intracellular signalling pathways (NF-κB, MAPK, STAT, PI3K/Akt). Key effects include:
- Enhancement of T-cell maturation, differentiation, and activation
- Stimulation of natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity and cytokine production
- Promotion of dendritic cell maturation and antigen presentation
- Upregulation of IL-2, IL-10, IFN-y, and IL-12 production
- Restoration of Th1/Th2 balance and reversal of immunosuppression
- Direct antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal activity
- Increased expression of MHC class I molecules and antioxidant enzymes
- These actions result in broad-spectrum immune potentiation, improved host defence, and accelerated recovery from immune suppression or dysregulation.
Indications & Usage
Immune Boost (Thymosin Alpha-1) is used to support and restore immune function. It is indicated for:
- Enhancement of immune competence during periods of increased demand (stress, recovery, environmental exposure)
- Assistance in age-related or acquired decline in T-cell and NK-cell function
- Support for recovery from acute or chronic immune challenges
- General immune modulation and resilience at the cellular level
Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use if you have:
- Known hypersensitivity to Thymosin Alpha-1 or any excipient
- Active autoimmune disease in acute flare (e.g., uncontrolled rheumatoid arthritis, lupus)
- Organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients on high-dose immunosuppression Active untreated malignancy (unless under oncologist supervision)
- Age under 18 years
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Warnings
- Use only under medical supervision.
- Not a substitute for vaccination, antimicrobial therapy, or standard treatment of infections/immunodeficiency.
- Monitor for signs of immune overstimulation (fever, rash, arthralgia) during initial use.
- Discontinue immediately and seek medical attention if severe allergic reactions, organ inflammation, or unexpected symptoms occur.
Dosage & Administration
- Subcutaneous injection only.
- Beginner/Mild Support (0.125 mg): 6 clicks daily- 5 days on / 2 days off (yields ~20 doses)
- Moderate Support (0.25 mg): 12 clicks daily- 5 days on /2 days off (yields ~10 doses)
- Advanced/Clinical Support (0.5 mg): 24 clicks daily- 5 days on / 2 days off (yields ≈5 doses) Frequency: 5 days on / 2 days off (e.g., Monday-Friday on, Saturday-Sunday off)
- Timing: Every morning
Administration Instructions
- Wash hands and prepare a clean surface.
- Attach a sterile needle.
- Dial the required number of clicks.
- Clean injection site (abdomen or upper thigh) with alcohol swab.
- Insert needle at 45-90° angle and inject slowly.
- Withdraw needle, dispose safely, and cap the pen.
- Rotate injection sites to minimize irritation.
- Always inspect solution before use: Do not inject if cloudy, discoloured, or containing particles.
Side Effects
Thymosin Alpha-1 is generally very well tolerated with a long safety record. Reported reactions are rare and mild, including:
- Transient injection-site redness, itching, or mild swelling
- Mild flu-like symptoms (low-grade fever, fatigue, myalgia) during initial doses
- Headache or light-headedness
- Rare transient changes in appetite or sleep pattern
- If any severe or persistent symptoms occur (e.g., high fever, rash, joint swelling, or allergic signs), discontinue use and contact your healthcare provider immediately.
Storage & Handling
- Store either in refrigerator (fridge); never freeze or in a cool dry place (≤25-30°C / 77-86°F).
- Keep pen capped and protected from light and heat.
- After first use: Same storage conditions.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Discard if expired or solution appears abnormal.
